19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former coach Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's first title following the Rome competition and first on a hard surface since March of that year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has secured 21 victories at 21 different tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serving game.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
